Shonen Ultra is a producer, rapper, audio engineer and videographer based in Los Angeles who specializes in Hip-Hop and R&B production.
Sho began their musical journey at age 12, performing as a DJ at local events and weddings while gaining experience that would grow their love for music. At age 14, Sho would record “The Summer Machine” mixtape at their local community college, releasing it to great acclaim with the outro being Shonen’s first track to hit 100k plays. In 2019, Sho worked under 5A Label honing their engineering skills and working alongside artists such as Justin Park and Demie Cao. Sho would begin crafting a unique sound while working at an office job in Los Angeles, eventually quitting to pursue music full-time and releasing his first project Night on Earth in 2021.
Music for Sho is a way to share stories and inspiration for others, aiming to embue each new project with a very specific style, sonic palette, and visual space. Creating music that you can see rather than just hear.
Today, Sho continues to produce and engineer for new artists while working on crafting a debut rap project, set to release in late 2021...
